Let's Co-Create the Future Tennis Rackets

Original language : French

At Decathlon (and more specifically through its expert brand KUIKMA), designing a tennis racket is not a solitary process in a laboratory. It is a continuous cycle of co-creation that places players from beginners to professionals at the center of the reactor.

Here are the main steps of this collaborative process:

1. Immersion and Listening

It all begins on the court. Decathlon teams observe players and analyze customer feedback to identify real needs (comfort, power, maneuverability).

2. Ideation with Experts

Engineers and designers collaborate with professional technical partners (like Gaël Monfils) and coaches to define the ideal technical characteristics of the future frame.

3. Prototyping and Field Testing

Unbranded (blackout) prototypes are given to panels of players. Their raw feedback allows for iterative adjustments of the racket's balance, weight, and stiffness.

4. Lab Validation & Design

While machines test the durability and physics of the racket, the community validates the final aesthetics (colors, finishes) to ensure a product that is pleasing both in appearance and performance.

The goal: To move from idea to court by ensuring that every technical and aesthetic choice is validated by those who use it, from beginner to champion.
