In order to develop our new Quechua products, we would need you to come and test them in real-life conditions.
Profile sought:
You are used to mountain hiking and can walk for 7-8 hours a day in all weather conditions, with elevation gain (up to 1500-2000m of positive elevation gain per day), carrying a 20L/40L backpack loaded with over 5kg. Very good physical condition is required.
We will select 12 men and 12 women to form the group for a complete, friendly and enjoyable 3-day experience in the mountains!
The group will be supervised by 2 average mountain guides and several members of the QUECHUA team.
On-site, you will be asked to give your opinion on the tested products. The main objective of this field test is to test 2 pairs of mid-range and high-end hiking shoes currently in development.
Practical information:
Dates:: May 15 to May 17, 2024
Starting and ending point:: Mountain Store, 170 Avenue Léman Mont Blanc, 74190 PASSY
Hikes:: 3 days of hiking in the heart of the Chamonix valley. We will be based in a lodge near St-Gervais/Les Houches.
Our hiking routes will be chosen according to weather conditions and the possible presence of snow in the mountains. Approximately 6-8 hours of walking per day, with around 1,500-2,000m of elevation gain per day for the longest day.
We will spend the nights in a lodge (dormitories or shared rooms).
Each person will carry their hiking backpack. You will carry your personal belongings for a day, as well as some of the common equipment (food...).
You will need to bring the following equipment and clothing:
- Technical hiking socks, medium or high cut.
- Hiking pants for the 3 days.
- Waterproof overpants (depending on weather conditions).
- Short-sleeved & long-sleeved t-shirts for the 3 days.
- Fleece jacket
- Lightweight & compact down jacket
- Waterproof jacket
- Beanie or Buff-type neck gaiter
- Thin pair of gloves
- Spare dry base layer (t-shirt, underwear, leggings) for the evening and night
- Sunglasses
- Water bottle or hydration pack, minimum 2 liters
- Necessary items for picnicking: plate, mug, pocket knife, spoon/fork
- Toiletry bag & small personal pharmacy (including tick remover, blister bandages, disinfectant, sunscreen)... minimalist!
- Hiking backpack
- Hiking poles if needed
- Flip-flops/Crocs/sandals for the lodge
- Sleeping bag liner for the lodge
Terms:
All expenses related to accommodation, transportation, meals (excluding extras) will be covered during the testing period, starting from the departure from Passy (74190) on Wednesday, May 15, until the return to Passy on Friday, May 17, 2024.
The expenses to get to Passy and to leave are at your own charge.
Your insurance/assistance:
A mountain hike involves risks that should be mitigated by being well insured. Make sure you are covered for search/rescue costs, repatriation, and medical expenses. If not, you can subscribe to this type of insurance: Impact Multisports, Europ Assistance, Avi, etc...
Compensation:
This test is not paid.
