// Did you know ? Of all our glasses returned to the store for a quality problem, 40% return because of a defect on the glass? //
Hello everyone !
At Decathlon, our mission is to offer you durable products so that you can enjoy the pleasures of sport for as long as possible!
Whether you're hiking, biking or sailing, we want our sunglasses to accompany you on your greatest adventures!
The glasses protect against the sun, UV rays, wind, rain and even sand and dust.
But what are we really doing for them?!
How do we protect our glasses from the small hazardous fall in the gravel?
How do we protect our glasses from the sharp blades of the bunch of keys stuck at the bottom of the backpack?
How do we protect our glasses from this famous delicate cleaning exercised with our t-shirt after 4 hours of hiking?
Do you see what we are talking about ;)?
Unfortunately, the appearance of scratches on the surface of the lenses would indeed be directly linked to this type of everyday situation.
Lenses are damaged in this way and their optical and aesthetic qualities deteriorate over time.
Faced with this observation, our teams of engineers are studying the appearance of scratches and the protection of the lenses.
Protective accessories, materials and anti-scratch coatings: we are exploring different solutions to guarantee ever more durable sunglasses tomorrow.
The test that we would like to offer you if you are interested falls within the framework of our studies for the development of a new anti-scratch coating.
What is an anti-scratch coating?
Quite simply, it is a varnish that is applied to the glass in order to protect it from external aggressions.
This thin film acts as a shield and prevents the appearance of too early scratches.
We are looking for volunteers to help us test sunglasses equipped with this new coating over a long period of time. Concretely, it is a product test at home and independently.
If you are selected for this test, we will ask you to wear the pair of glasses as much as possible and to share with us the evolution of the surface condition of the glasses via a questionnaire.
We are looking for motivated testers, if you are interested, the rest here š
