We hope that you are all well and that the start of this year 2022 goes as you hoped.
The month of January was an opportunity for the DECATHLON Outdoor application team to take stock of its first year .

We can say it, the journey has been strewn with pitfalls:
COVID, of course. The fire of the OVH servers. Not a great weather forecast...
Not to mention the very rapid growth of our team, which required learning to work well together. In short: sporty!🏋️
But we must say, we are happy with what we have achieved together. Here are some figures since the launch at the beginning of May:
🗺️ 13,000 courses in the region
⬇️ 350,000 downloads
🤳 100,000 accounts created
⌚ + 1.5 million minutes spent outside, with DECATHLON Outdoor
And good ratings on the Apple Store and the Android Play Store.
Without a doubt, your feedback and your comments have given us valuable answers to the many questions we asked ourselves in our first developments. But also the motivation to work hard to offer an experience that meets your desires.
A shared success and we wanted to thank you all for your time and your involvement without which we would not be here!

So of course, there is a LOT of work left to provide an experience that lives up to what we can dream of.
In the coming weeks, we will focus on several elements.
First, the technical stabilization of the app to avoid crashes, bugs and slowness that you may have encountered. The goal is to provide a super smooth experience.
Then, we will continue to work on contribution , that is to say the possibility for everyone to easily share their favorite routes with the community. The functionality has been available for a few weeks > don't hesitate to go test it and give us your feedback here! Over the last few months, we have launched many initiatives to test what was most interesting for all of us (challenges, typeform, etc.). Moreover, we have not always been very responsive in monitoring these challenges and we apologize for this. We can explain them by regular changes in the teams in charge. But we should have paid more attention to ensuring that the prize delivery went smoothly.
We will also make progress on finding outings in the app . The objective is to drastically increase the quantity of outings offered. We need to simplify the display and the search methods so that we are not “drowned” by the routes :)
At the same time, we will continue to develop the “Baroudeurs Club” which has been offering quiet outings around Lille and Bordeaux for several months, twice a month. And all this for free (even with breakfast :)). Our desire is to strengthen this community dimension to allow everyone to practice with other walking and nature enthusiasts. We are opening 10 new cities this year.
