With the aim of developing new trekking gloves, we need your help to come test them in real conditions.
Desired Profile:
You are used to mountain treks and can walk for 5/6 hours a day in all weather conditions, with elevation gain (up to 1000 m of positive elevation gain per day), carrying a backpack of 50L/70L loaded with over 10kg. A good physical condition is necessary.
We will select 4 men and 4 women to form the group for 2 fun and friendly days in the mountains!
The group will be supervised by a mountain guide and several members of the Simond Trekking team.
On-site, you will be asked to give your opinion on the tested products. The main objective of this usage test is to evaluate wool liners, waterproof over-mittens, and mittens/mittens.

Dates: from November 26 to November 27, 2024
Departure and Arrival Point: Mountain Store, 170 Avenue Léman Mont Blanc, 74190 PASSY
The Program: 2 days of hiking in the heart of the Chamonix valley. We will be based in Les Houches.
Our hiking routes will be chosen based on weather conditions and the possible presence of snow in the mountains. Approximately 5/6 hours of walking per day, around 1,000m of elevation gain per day.
We will spend the nights in a lodge (dormitories or shared rooms).
You will need to prepare the following gear and clothing:
- High-top hiking shoes
- Hiking socks
- Hiking pants
- 1 waterproof overpants (depending on weather conditions)
- Short-sleeved & long-sleeved t-shirt (preferably merino wool)
- Fleece jacket
- Lightweight & compact down jacket
- Waterproof jacket
- Hat or neck gaiter type Buff.
- Thin pair of gloves (Provided by Decathlon)
- A dry change of base layer (t-shirt, underwear, leggings) for the evening and night
- Sunglasses
- Water bottle or hydration bladder, minimum 2 liters
- The necessary items for picnic meals: plate, mug, pocket knife, spoon/fork
- Toiletry kit & personal minimalistic first aid kit (including tick remover, blister plaster, disinfectant, sunscreen)...
- Headlamp
- Hiking backpack for daily belongings
- Trekking poles
- Flip-flops / crocs / sandals for the lodge
- Sleeping bag liner for the lodge
Terms:
All costs related to accommodation, transport, and meals (excluding extras) will be covered during the test period, starting from the departure from Passy (74190) on Tuesday, November 26, and until the return to Passy on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
Travel expenses to and from Passy remain your responsibility.
Compensation:
This test is unpaid.
