Hello everyone,
Thank you everyone for taking the time to answer the questionnaire “Electric bikes for children aged 6 to 12, what do you think?”.
This subject is a source of debate and exchange and that is why we needed your feedback! As a reminder, this subject is really divisive since 43% of you are opposed to the use of an electric bike, 39% say why not and 17% are totally in favor.
Thanks to your responses and comments, we offer to share with you the lessons that will push us to continue thinking:
- If we released an electrically assisted bicycle for children, it would be for children over 9 years old. For what ? We believe that at an early age, children must learn a taste for effort, know how to master their bike, and take pleasure in exercising in a natural environment.
- If we released an electrically assisted bicycle for children, it would be one model among all of our 49 bicycles currently in the range (i.e. 2% of our range) because price and product accessibility do not represent the majority (but we would like satisfy everyone).
- If we released an electrically assisted bicycle for children, it would be a mountain bike-oriented model that would allow a child aged 9 to 12 to be able to follow their parents over a distance/elevation that they would not be able to reach without this help. The objective is to open new horizons, to taste the joys of a longer family hike, to access previously unattainable terrain. The main point is that this bike necessarily requires pedaling and muscular effort to move forward: we do not want to develop mopeds.
- If we released an electrically assisted bicycle for children, we would favor what you told us: Lightness, autonomy, price and quality of the components. The ideal would be a bike below 1000 euros and we are seriously considering rental.
If you are interested in continuing the exploration, do not hesitate to follow the project. We will continue to work on this project and ask you for future interactions.
See you soon and thank you again, whether you are for or against, all your opinions are interesting!
